Last Day :-(
Last day here in Iceland :-(
Got up early-ish (ie before 9am) the boys went off to fix the hire car and I stayed in the room doing the washing up and some packing.
After that we headed off out to Vik which is down in the Southern part of Iceland and apprently is the rainiest city.
Well it rained, all the way there and all the way back!
We stopped off at a waterfall on the way there and got soaked but was well worth it, the scenery is amazing even in the rain.
Saw a glacier from afar, tried to drive closer to it but the road came to a bit of halt at a dodgy bridge that we didn't dare risk the hire car on.
After taking a quick look at the beach at Vik (which is black due to the volcanic sands) we went to see how close we could get to another glacier.
We got about 3 miles up the glacier "road" and then had to stop, this was about 2 miles after we had passed the Impassable road sign ;-) we never learn!
Will post a few pix but no film til I get back cos everything is packed away.

We did try to get closer to this but the road disapeared into the run off from the glacier so we gave up otherwise we'd still be there, lost in Iceland ;-)

Vodka & Orange, The Way Forward!
So it's been a couple of days since the last post!
Spent yesterday afternoon at the Blue Lagoon, that has to be the weirdest New Years day I've ever had.
Sunday we went to Gulfoss and the geysir with the steaming fields, also had a run in with the impassable road but thats another story and another film ;-)
New Years eve was also pretty strange, we went out around 10.30pm but apprently the whole of Iceland goes to watch a tv programme then and so the streets were deserted then suddenly at around 11.30pm people just arrived from everywhere and started letting off fireworks in all directions!
The Bonfires were cancelled though due to the high winds, they did however light a could up last night.
Anyway enough of the crap here's a few photo's from the last few days, later on I'll post some more bad film on YouTube and link it here.
